Silence
I sit on my white sheets
And stare off at my white walls
Silence ‘cept for that trickle
The trickle that peeps from my eye’s edge
And slowly slide its way down my cheek
I heaved
Breathing in the silence
Peace at last.
Years of praying for a silent moment
Finally made its descent
I breathed it all in.
But there was no peace.
Just my entanglements
The self loathe and the self pity
that stared emptily back at me.
I hugged myself
As if to say I’ll be alright
In this white silent world
The silence now comforting
As I slid beneath my white sheets
Another tear trickles
Soaking my white kingdom
I blinked and watched
As my world engulfs
In the sound of those
Trickle drops
Invading my silence
I heaved again
And prayed for peace.
